W&J Quad Post-Mortem and W&L Invite preview

There isn't much to say about the W&J Quad other than it is tough to win when you give up 4 forfeits. For the most part we wrestled ok. Not too many mistakes, but not nearly enough offense for my liking. Muskingum came down to a takedown in the last 10 seconds that we didn't get and a major decision in the final 15 seconds to clinch the loss at 25-24. Tough. Add any 1 of our 7 injured reserve and we win the match. W&J did a great job of freezing us on our feet, and we lost multiple 1 point matches. We just had no offense. We won 4 of 6 against Gettysburg but forfeits eliminated us before the match started.

This weekend is the 30th annual W&L Invitational, and it should be a great event for us. A couple of new teams enter this year, but apparently we aren't the only program being ravaged by injuries. This makes things all the more frustrating because if we had 2 more guys, I believe we win the thing. That being said, there is every chance that if we do what we do best and show some true heart out there, we could place all 6 of our guys, and have anywhere from 2-5 in the finals. This event is also a celebration for Coach Franke's retirement and we will recognize and honor him shortly before the finals. We will have over 20 Alumni and friends of the program in attendance and I think the boys will put on a great show.
