Spent Thursday and Friday in Allentown, PA at the National Prep Wrestling tournament, where we had 3 early decision recruits competing, 2 regular decision guys that we're hoping will come, and also some very nice sophomores and juniors that we wanted to meet. First thought: the Generals will be ready to fight for every match next year! I was very impressed with what I saw out of each one of these guys, even when they lost, they were still doing the right things, and what I was most impressed with was the intensity and the aggression! The practice room is going to be drastically different next year, and I am already looking forward to it.
In other recruiting related news, our public school recruits had some very nice weekends and state tournies. Here's an impressive stat: every single committed recruit, and almost every single regular decision (who we are hoping will commit) placed at their state tournament. And included in that are a lot of top 3 placewinners.
I have said before that I'm not coaching at W&L to be last in the Conference, and I meant it. Watch out, 'cause the Generals are coming!!!
