After an unbelievably wet week and weekend, the sun is back out shining today, and it's warm again. I'm taking this as a good sign, as our season officially begins tomorrow. The past month has been absolutely crazy, but crazy good. We've had so many high quality student athletes come through our doors for a taste of W&L life, and it's my goal to continue spreading the good news and keeping that momentum going indefinitely. I have a very concrete vision where we will be in a couple of years and a road map to get there, and I am pleased to say that we are on track. The younger guys on the team are excited about not only this year, but the next few, as we feel we're bringing in the right talent in the right places to make an impact in the Conference and across D3.
With practice beginning tomorrow, we will have some quality time to get where we need to be before we open up at home with the W&L Fall Classic on Nov. 7th, and I have some great things in store for the guys. I can only hope they've worked hard in the offseason, because I most certainly did, and we will hit the ground running! For some of you alumni, you may remember a tradition known as Jacob's Ladder. That tradition will be returning 2 or 3 times in the next month, and I am certainly excited about that.
I know I promised the newsletter last week, but we had one delinquet photograph that needs to be included, which I will do later today, and should have the newsletter up by tomorrow. We are also taking team photos today, so go to generalssports.com and the wrestling page for updated pictures and roster info later this week. Of course I will link that page to here in the links section once they are up for your convenience.
Any wrestling Alumni coming into town for Homecoming or any other event should email me. I've linked our current schedule here and in the links section, we'd love to see you at a match, and especially at the W&L Invite.
