Messiah Wrap-up

Not a whole lot of good news to report from the Messiah tournament. With only 6 guys competing due to injuries, LSATs, and a few other things, overall expectations were not high as far as team score. We did have high hopes for some of our guys to advance individually. Leading the way was Sophomore Sam Campell, going 2-2 on the day, winning and losing some extremely close matches.

The silver lining was that we didn't wrestle poorly, we were just a bit too timid and reactionary, instead of confident and aggressive. We preach every day that you must minimize mistakes in order to maximize potential, and we simply just didn't do that. At a tournament like this, one small mistake in position, intensity, or technique is enough to end your day, which just about everyone found out. These problems are correctable, and as we get some more mat time we will get back on track.

Next up is our first dual meet with Southern Virginia, this Wednesday at 7pm in Doremus Gym.
